Do You Still Lurk In That Alley?

Do you still lurk in that alley?

The one with the broken street light>

The one where you can hear children’s laughter

From the park around the corner?

Do you still lurk there?

Where you cooed out words of lust,

Choking my throat with anxiety?

Where the sunlight makes the sky look like cotton candy?

Where my screams fell on deaf houses?

The alley you ruled and,

I chose to walk by?

Do you still lurk there?

Amongst the shadows,

Ready to pounce,

On another soul,

Drawing the curtains on her light?

Waiting to thrust her body against

That dusty wall with chipped off plaster?

Robbing her of materials and sweet dreams?

Do you still lurk there?

Where you satisfy your illicit greed?

Where the roads are a cemetery of broken confidence?

Do you still lurk in that alley?

Where you walk everyday in indifference,

But I can never dare step foot in again?
