I Can Not Tell You

I can not tell you

The number of times

I’ve accused the face

Looking back from the mirror.

I can not tell you

The number of times

I’ve justified the bruises

On my body

As heat of the moment.

I can not tell you

The number of times

I’ve choked my

No,

As you dipped

Your lips at the

Nape of my neck.

I can not tell you

The number of times

I’ve left desires

In the idea of

Hurting you;

In the idea of

Offending you.

I can not tell you

The number of times

You’ve made me

Give myself

Excuses and reasons

For your doings

As I breathed air

Into  your twisted mind

That only

Burnt me.

I can not tell you

The number of times

I’ve soaked pillows

And woken up screaming

As the nightmare

You created

Revisited.

And

I can not tell you

Of the sweet ache

Spreading across

My bones

As I wake up

Each time,

Reminding myself

That I have

Woken up.
